We haven't had our show yet and I would normally wait to post this. However since our show has been postponed, I'll ease the excitement.

February 2 - While we're on the topic of cell phones...

It seems the Blount County Sheriff's office doesn't trust parents to get involved in their children's lives. So after spending $1.2 million on installing School Resource Officers (SROs) in all the schools which are supposed to help deter crimes in schools, the sheriff's office wants to spend more on a program that would allow students to text them tips about things going on at their schools.

One student, who is for this program, was quoted as saying, "We have a lot of drug use going on...A lot of students are really concerned about other students home lives. And that's helpful too, because you don't want to get parents involved."

Not having parents involved in the first place is what leads to poor actions and decisions by school kids. It is not the government's job to raise your children. Period.
