April 8 - If you want to modernize, you must federalize

The bill: HR 875. The name: Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009.
It seems Connecticut Democrat Rosa Delauro thinks that ALL farmers and ranchers should be subjects of the state. ANYONE who transports food for sale would be vulnerable to unreasonable search and seizure (now where have I seen that before?). At anytime and anyplace the government can randomly take a farmer's products or records as part of the inspection.

Refusal to register: $1 million.
Refusal to comply: $1 million.
Killing local farms: priceless.

Monsanto injected the corn with a fungus that is resistent to Roundup- isn't that lovely?
Some people insist that it is this fungus that causes many intestinal problems
I hear today that 65,000 people die each day of starvation, and those people in DC want to make it difficult to grow/get food
Many farmers are not planting because it is too expensive and the price that is received at the market does not cover costs!
The world is in the midst of a severe famine- not that we here know anything about it - our FREE press you know
This bill along with the implementation of NAIS will wipe out all small farming if implemented
What will you eat?
Of course the meat that you buy at the market does not come from the US;
COOL (Country of Orgin Label) is supposed to let you know where the food (meat included) comes from BUT look at the label - US,Mex,Can Isn't that specific?

OK so I have some strong opinions on this
My advice is that everybody should start growing their own food using Heirloom seeds so they can save the seed and plant the next year

Bye
