Great News!

Currently there are 13 libertarian candidates for various public offices around the state of Tennessee, including two right here in Blount County! Just think what a difference we can make once we get some liberty-minded public servants! The time is now.

Why support libertarians?

I often hear that libertarians can't be supported because they don't have a chance of winning. That voting libertarian just takes votes away from candidate (D) or candidate (R). But let's take a look at some examples of what happens when Americans vote for the two "popular" parties:

- America is over $12 trillion in debt and counting. This breaks down to almost $40,000 for every man, woman, and child.

-  In 2009 we celebrated Tax Freedom Day on April 13. This means that you worked from January 1 - April 13, a total of 3 1/2 months, just to pay all the taxes imposed on you (What could you do with an extra 3 1/2 months' worth of income?).

- Republicans and Democrats took $800 billion of your tax money in late 2008 AND $800 billion in early 2009 and gave it to already-wealthy bank and auto-maker CEOs. They also created the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) which empowers the government to "bailout" whomever they wish with more of your money.

- Ongoing wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and a pending  war on Iran.

- Laws which regulate how you live your life.

- Laws which regulate your private property.

- An education system which is among the worst in the world.

Republicans and Democrats always seem to say the right thing around election time, but it is so easy to see they are more concerned with keeping their jobs than they are with protecting your rights.

Could you look your children or grandchildren in the eye and tell them you supported the policies which are bankrupting our country and restricting our freedom?

Don't be fooled by Republicans and Democrats again.
